Day 1 of my European Adventures! I had a great time in Seattle/Spokane seeing all of my friends, family, and preparing for my trip, but the day has finally arrived, I’m here!! I spent my last day in Seattle with Maggie and Marisa and we took a trip up to Snoqualmie falls, which was beautiful by the way. Lunch was fantastic and after enjoying the scenery we were off to the airport. Getting to my gate and through security went by without a hitch and then it just became a waiting game for my flight. Flying British Airlines was great and I was very impressed with the service and my free beverage choices (scotch and red wine, win). I was sitting next to a British pair and loved hearing their accent when I suddenly realized I was copying it in my head, haha. We got to pick our own in flight movies to watch so in lue of arriving in London, I watched Anonymous and then New Years Eve. Flying over the ocean was cool and 10 hours later we landed in London! I got searched and question at the UK border, but kept my cool and not after too long got my first stamp in my passport. I guess not having a return flight raises a lot of red flags for border patrol, my bad. I managed to find my way to the correct underground railway and after a minor turnaround made it to my hostel. Boy was i glad to see a bed, jet lag is not my friend and I am exhausted. My room has 12 three story bunk beds with little space for bags, but I am just glad to be here. My first thoughts on London so far: All the buildings and homes are older and compact and right next to each other, the conversion rate is ridiculous which makes everything expensive, and everybody dresses super classy (especially the shoes) but seems nice. I guess we shall see.
Man, I'm so glad I brought my Ballerinas. Otherwise everyone would have stared at me like at you with your joggers :D
ReplyDeleteHaha! Good thing I remembered to bring classy shoes so no-one knew I was a tourist... Oh wait, they definitely still knew. =P
