The Biggest Castle in Europe < The Walking Dead

Day 53. Today I slept in again and then went out to explore the city by myself. Upon leaving the hostel I ran into a group of guys from my hostel going to get some fried cheese. Yes, fried cheese (Think of mix between a chicken patty and string cheese with a bun plus mayo, curry ketchup, and spicy mustard). It was actually quite good, I don’t think I would get it again, but it was fun to try and super cheap (Nothing says Prague like fried cheese says Prague, haha). After we got our fried cheese the guys were going to a beer garden and I headed up to the castle. I was excited to see the Prague castle because, well, I love castles (duh), but also because Prague Castle is supposed to be the biggest castle in all of Europe (Oh boy!!). I walked towards the castle and got to walk across the famous St. Charles Bridge with its many old statues dotting either side of the long sunny bridge. I enjoyed the bridge and even rubbed the dog on one of its plaque's as I crossed (Supposed to mean you will return to Prague if you touch the dog, I guess we will see if it works or not). After some ice cream (It is so HOT today, like 29 degrees Celsius!) and a nice church I wound my way through the many streets up to the castle!!  … where I was more than a little disappointed. The castle is supposed to be the biggest CASTLE in all of Europe, but I think they cheated! It doesn’t look like a castle at all, it looks to be just a bunch of buildings right next to each other with maybe connecting walls with a massive church in the middle. They cheated! Yes, the church is very nice and impressive, but so are 100 other churches I have seen. The “castle” has its moments/cool things, but on the whole it doesn’t feel like you are in a castle and I was disappointed at what is supposed to be Europe's biggest castle. I found a free walking tour in the cathedral and joined up with them to learn more about the "castle" and its grounds. The tour was only alright, but that might have been because I was a little sour from the title of biggest castle in Europe going to a flop, haha. We got to see a changing of the guards (Meh…) and some incredible views of Prague (Ok, this was amazing, I am all about breathtaking views with an entire city laid out in front of you, yup, win.). After the tour I walked through the castle vineyards down to the river in search of the John Lennon Wall. I stumbled upon a cool place to see the Charles bridge, and then I found the wall. The John Lennon wall is a nicely sized but relatively small wall covered in graffiti and I of course had to add some of my own. I saw some girls with paint and asked to borrow some, using it to paint my name and signed the wall and even did a little something similar to the gum wall in Seattle except with paint (Babe! =D ). A little ways down form the wall is Prague’s love lock bridge. It’s very small but covered in locks and it is always cool to see the cities love locks. I walked back to the hostel and hung out there for a while before we all went to an amazing club. DJ Benga was playing at the Roxy and oh my goodness, it was INSANE, such a crazy fun night. Gabi and I literally started the craziness and dancing (Of course) and we danced for hours and hours to incredible dub step music that just kept going (DJ Benga is SO GOOD!!!). At one point he jumped up onto his turntable (which was very high up on a raised platform on the stage) and he fell backwards into the crowd unscathed (which was a mosh pit). He was THAT good. After getting our fill of dancing for the night we walked back to the hostel in the rain and reveled in it. It felt so good after dancing and sweating and being so hot in the club to be out in the open air feeling the warm rain. I was impressed with myself for finding the way back no problem and after some late night pizza (I have had pizza EVERY single day I have been in Prague, it's so good and so cheap and right next door to our hostel open 24/7... how do you say no to that!?) we starting The Walking Dead Season 1 Marathon. Oh yeah, it happened, and I was SUPER into it. Like zoned out this is the best show ever into it, haha (Jayna and Jenny you were right!). I went to bed super late again (so  much for catching up on sleep... we finished season 1 ... don't judge us) and at this point it is getting ridiculous. From Budapest to Prague the fun seems to never end! Oh well, you were born to live right??

Day  54. I had a super lazy day today (No surprises there). I have been going to bed when the sun is already up for i don't know how many days in a row, so today I got up very late in an attempt to try and catch up on lost sleep (my throat is fine but I have a lot of congestion and always some amount of mucus in my nose no matter how many times I blow it (I am sure you wanted to know that). Just in case you were wondering how I am faring since I mentioned I wasn’t feeling so hot). After waking up and deciding on a game plan, the six of us (Chaz and Lewis (Jambo), Kiara, Andy, Mike, and myself) got some delicious Czech food and once again tried to go to the Jewish museum. Once again, failblog. It was closed again so we instead we went to a sex museum (a natural alternative of course) which was ridiculous. I wanted to go to the Lego museum (Supposedly the Prague Lego museum is the biggest in the world but don’t quote me on that), but was overruled. And it was actually pretty funny to see (I thought of you the entire time Mimi! You would have died!!) After old seeing my fill of old toys, instruments, and super old pornography we went to the store to buy some ingredients for dinner. We decided on a stir fry with vegetables, rice and chicken in a teriyaki sauce, yummy! (Thank you master chefs, it was delicious!!) I opted to stay in tonight to once again catch up on lost sleep and I got to skype with Anthony for a bit and watched more of The Walking Dead (Gosh that show is so good, so addicting and makes me so nervous!). I even went to bed at a reasonable hour tonight, look at me go (But don’t look too hard, I am never in one place for very long). Tomorrow Berlin!
